Our Work
We approach every project with enthusiasm and a beginner's mind. We want to create a garden unique to your vision. Through discussion and time in your yard, we build out a design that works for you and your space. Take a look at some of our projects and see how a vision can come to fruition and give you a garden to really get in to and enjoy for years to come. As one of our clients said: "It's even more beautiful than I imagined."
Atlas Ave, Cedarvale, Toronto
Corner lots have a ton of potential, so we were excited to tackle this property. It was late in the season, so we split the job into two parts. The back area and front area. The client wanted practicality and usability with a natural aesthetic using mostly native plants. So we went with a flagstone patio as the centre piece. We custom built the shed to fit the space, rebuilt a failing retaining wall in the parking area, and added a fence for privacy. The side and front will happen in the Spring and will combine a seating area in the side, and beds in front, with a uniting curved pathway to connect it all.

The backyard here was basically a clean slate that needed a new design to allow for more function and greenery. The client likes to entertain so that was a key element factored into the design. A new deck and a fire pit area provided the entertaining space. Being a small yard, we worked angles into the design to make it feel bigger. The beds follow the angles of the deck, creating a modern, slick but cozy feel. The planting is inspired by Japanese gardens, allowing for bursts of colour in Spring and Summer, but also some year round evergreen.

What we started with.

Wide shot of yard.

We started with a construction site. So we cleaned up, levelled and added triple mix, then drew out the shapes.

Gives the feeling of a wandering garden.

DeGrassi St. Riverdale, Toronto.
Our client on DeGrassi St. had finished a full reno of their beautiful home. The front and back yards were clean slates. They had a vision and we supported that with our own design concepts. The back lent itself to a wandering garden that incorporated family sculptures and different areas for socializing. "Rooms." The front needed to be be inviting and beautiful combined with a functional use as a pollinator garden.
Derwyn Ave. East York, Toronto
The clients wanted to refresh the front yard. It was mostly grass. We highly recommended losing all the grass and transforming the yard into a low maintenance perennial garden centred around the existing Gingko tree planted by the city. We hate to waste existing plants, so worked the Yews, Hostas and Hydrangeas into the design. We left some room for the Grandchildren to play and added a large Armour Stone for a stage! The result is striking, playful and easy to take care of.

Hiawatha Rd. East Leslieville, Toronto
The client wanted to refresh their mostly unutilized, shady backyard with a new design that had purpose and function. They literally wanted to get 'into the garden' more. The Japanese inspired design included a pavillion for enjoying a cocktail in the evening, rain or shine. It turned out great and they have reported they spend 10 times as much time in their garden than they used to.
